Her
Majesty Queen Elizabeth of England, shown here with one of her favourite
horses, is well-known as a keen horse-fancier. She has a stable of thoroughbred
horses which she races at major events throughout Britain. What is less
well known however is that her recent success in British horse-racing owes
much to the extreme light-weight of her jockey, which disgruntled rival
horse-owners say has given the queens horses an unfair advantage. In keeping
with a long tradition, the royal family never comment to the news media
but the Gnome jockey who now rides the queens horses was more forthcoming,
offering a cheery "Bugger Off you Bastards !" in a small piping voice when
questioned by reporters outside the Royal stables. |
