This
is an extract from a local newspaper published in the North of England
today. It is almost unbelievable that something like this could still happen
at the start of the 21st century. The whole incident has the unsavoury
stench of bigotry and oppression. Yes Gnomes are different, but does that
justify police repression and the use of the law to exclude them from society
? These Gnomes are now doomed to a bitter lifetime of house-arrest for
behaving naturally. Do we live in a totalitarian state ? Unfortunately
it looks as though the answer in Britain is yes |

Speaking
at a rally in Durham City, firebrand civil-liberties orator the Reverand
Theophilopus P Gnome called for direct action to blockade fast-food
outlets so that police would be denied access to donuts. He predicted that
this would bring them to their knees within a matter of days. The rally
was broken up by baton-wielding police and all Gnomes now face a 9pm curfew
and exclusion from cities. |
