sensational picture was taken at Ellington Field (near Clear Lake,
Texas), during the "welcome home" rally for Shannon, after her 6 month
stay aboard the Russian Space Station Mir. President Clinton was campaigning
in Houston that day, and stopped by the rally for a quick visit. The pilots
had been unaware that the spacecraft had brought back an unwelcome passenger
until the space-gnome burst onto the stage and proceeded to tap-dance.
The President and Shannon look on and laugh at the Gnomes antics. Surprisingly
there are already unconfirmed rumours that the gnome may be asked
to run with Al Gore in order to add a little life to his presidential
